
JAAWB Certification is open to any organization/business that demonstrates clear evidence of their commitment to eradicate workplace bullying. Awarding of the JAAWB Seal reflects your commitment to making tangible effort to prevent, respond to, and report on workplace bullying to promote a healthy workplace culture.
Our goal is to encourage organizations/businesses to adopt and incorporate actions that support anti-workplace bullying. The organization/business anti-workplace bullying performance will be evaluated and graded against JAAWB criteria. We will revise our criteria advances in anti-workplace develop.

Organization Certification
Certification guidelines are designed to evaluate the operations and attestations of applicants to the JAAWB certification program. The guidelines ensure applicants meet specified JAAWB certification standards and requirements. JAAWB certification provides a standardized level of anti-workplace bullying practices.
The following list of certification criteria will help applicants through the self-evaluation required so they can use the information in their application. We expect applicants to provide insights into their anti-workplace bullying actions. Your submission should show how you address workplace bullying in your State and organizational context. We hope to see evidence-based actions and evidence-supported assertions.

“Above and Beyond”
The criteria are presented as minimum and advanced guides. There are many ways to address workplace bullying. Any initiatives mentioned beyond the minimum and advanced criteria will be classified as “above and beyond”. For example, implement an award and reward system for persons who exemplify anti-workplace bullying behaviors
Certification Process
Step 1: Self-evaluation
Organizations should use the certification criteria as a guide to evaluate your anti-workplace bullying efforts. Evidence should support any claims made about supporting anti-workplace bullying practices. The self-evaluation should be written succinctly as it may be provided to the reviewers upon request.
Step 2: Request for JAAWB Certification Consideration
Executive summary of self-study no more than three pages describing your organization, a summary of the self-study, provide one example evidence that backs up your claims. Be sure to include a brief company background data document with any associated websites, social media, contacts, and three employee references. There are three outcomes from this review:

Invite to apply for certification

Denied with recommendations
You will only be invited to apply for the JAAWB Certification if your organization presents as a good certification candidate.
Step 3: Invitation to Apply for JAAWB Certification
If the proposal is approved — we will invite you to formally apply by sending you the JAAWB Certification Application, visitation options, and application payment instructions. At this time, we will also request the completed self-study and all evidence supporting your claims be provide with the application.
Step 4-V: Site Visit (if applying for a Verified certification)
Once we have received your completed certification application and any required evidence, you will be contacted to schedule a site visit. Site visits are utilized to evaluate the voracity of claims. The site visit includes: obtain answers to questions based on the application, reviewing materials, interviewing individuals, conducting focus groups, and facilitating a workplace bullying climate survey.
Step 4-R: Virtual Visit (if applying for a Reviewed certification)
Once we have received your completed certification application and any required samples, you will be contacted to schedule a virtual visit. Virtual visits are utilized to evaluate the voracity of claims. The virtual visit includes: obtaining answers to questions based on the application.
Step 5: Communication
After the visit, JAAWB will evaluate your application packet, evidence, and visit information. JAAWB’s decision will be communicated to your contact person via the contact email you provided in your application. There are three outcomes from the evaluation:

Recognition
Certification recipients are recognized by receiving an electronic JAAWB seal, a plaque, and an electronic certificate of authenticity. The name of the company will be added to the certification gallery on the JAAWB website.
Re-Certification
Certification lasts for two years. To re-certify at the same level, provide any updates, assessment results, accolades, etc. along with a self-assessment.
If seeking an upgraded certification, follow the standard process for that level. Organizations/companies can apply for upgraded certification at any time.
